DA Will Not File Sex Charges Against Southland Principal

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Southland principal who was arrested for allegedly committing lewd acts with a child will not be charged.

Daniel Edwin Weston, 47, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly committing lewd acts with an underage girl in Jan. 2008.

The girl was a student at a Seventh Day Adventist school in Whittier, where Weston was working at the time.

The Los Angeles District Attorney announced Thursday that no charges will be filed due to a lack of evidence.

Weston served as principal at that school for seven years before being transferred to a different Seventh Day Adventist school in West Covina.

He remains on administrative leave from his current job.
