Residents On Edge After String Of Burglaries In Porter Ranch
PORTER RANCH (CBS) — Authorities are advising residents to lock all doors and take extra precautions after a string of burglaries in Porter Ranch.
Administrators at Castle Bay Lane Elementary School sent letters warning parents after four burglaries were reported near the school on Monday.
All of the robberies have taken place in the middle of the day, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
One victim, who had to replace a damaged door, says thieves got away with alcohol and jewelry after breaking through a back window.
Police are now urging residents to make their presence known without putting themselves in danger.
Police have not released detailed descriptions of the burglars, who have been spotted in a white SUV with front-end damage.
Police say they are between 20 and 30 years old.
