Redlands Personal Trainer Suspected Of Sexually Assaulting Teen Girls

REDLANDS (CBS) — Police say there may be more victims of a personal trainer arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at his training gym.

Mauricio Mario Ortiz, 44, of Redlands, was arrested Friday as police served search warrants at his home and his place of business, Carl Baker of the Redlands police said.

Ortiz operates a personal training business, "Fitness by Mauricio," at 390 Alabama St.

A 16-year-old girl reported on Jan. 4 that she had been sexually assaulted by Ortiz that day at the gym. Investigators looking into the report found another woman who said she had been sexually assaulted by Ortiz in Loma Linda during the summer of 2010 when she was 17.

Police seized evidence including cameras, computes and photos during the search of Ortiz's home and business.
