HESPERIA (CBS) — A fire burning in Hesperia has scorched approximately 40 acres, the San Bernardino National Forest reported via Twitter.
The blaze north of Summit Valley Road near Telephone Canyon Road broke out Sunday afternoon.
The San Bernardino National Forest tweeted that smoke from the fire was drifting towards the Cajon Pass/Silverado area.
As of 1:30 p.m., no damage to structures was reported and no structures were threatened.
Fire officials told the CBS2/KCAL9 Assignment Desk that the blaze had started in a residential area.
No other information was immediately available.
