M3.5 Quake Rattles Coachella Valley; No Damage Reported

INDIO (CBS) — The U.S. Geological Service says a magnitude-3.5 earthquake shook the Coachella Valley just before 9 a.m. Friday morning.

The quake was centered about 8 miles east-northeast of Coachella and was about 3 miles below the surface.

The quake was the latest to rattle Southern California since the new year began.

A 3.1-magnitude earthquake rattled the area the day before, 9 miles south of Joshua Tree.

No injuries or damages have been reported after either quake.
