Kobe Bryant Scores 39 Points As Lakers Beat Warriors

(CBS) -- Kobe Bryant had 39 points and seven assists to lead the Los Angeles Lakers past the Golden State Warriors 97-90 on Friday night at the Staples Center.

It was Bryant's third straight game with 30+ points.

"He carried us, that's what the great ones do." Lakers coach Mike Brown said.

The Lakers shook off a slow start, turning over the ball 12 times in the first half on 15 made field goals, but erupted for 32 points in the third quarter and never looked back for their fifth win in nine games this season.

Andrew Bynum scored a season-low nine points, but grabbed 16 rebounds,  and Matt Barnes scored a season-high 16 points.

Former Laker Kwame Brown scored 13 points starting in the middle for the Warriors.
