Santa Monica Man, 31, Arrested For Sexting, Molesting Teen

SANTA MONICA (CBS) — Brian Anthony Marks, 31, was arrested on suspicion of carrying on a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl he met via texts, and police believe there may be more victims.

Marks was taken into custody Tuesday when a search warrant was served at his home in Santa Monica, said Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department.

Detectives began investigating Marks Dec. 14 and determined he met the victim, a 13-year-old girl, in September on a chat room-like mobile application commonly used on smart phones.

"Marks developed an ongoing sexual relationship with the victim," Lewis said in a statement, Police believe it is possible this was not an isolated incident.

Marks was booked for lewd and lascivious acts with a child and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

He was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
