LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Dollar General is marching on California.
The Tennessee-based discount retailer says they will need to fill an estimated 300 jobs in the inland Empire alone. In all, Dollar General Corp. will open 50 stores and a distribution center in California as part of a national 625-store expansion.
The first store will open in Montclair with a scheduled February grand opening. New stores to follow will be in Victorville, Colton and Palmdale.
The hiring frenzy began today with a job fair in Ontario. Another job fair is scheduled Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Ontario Airport, 209 N. Vineyard Ave.
A company spokesman said the company will be hiring for entry level and management positions throughout the state.
