College Student Killed, Girl And Man Wounded In South LA Shooting
SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A teenager was killed Monday in a shooting that wounded two other people, police said.
The shooting occurred near 52nd Place and McKinley Avenue at 2:40 p.m., LAPD Officer Sara Faden said.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the upper body multiple times and died at the scene.
A 57-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and an 11-year-old girl was shot in the foot. The man and girl were taken to hospitals, where they were listed in stable condition.
Police were looking for a gunman in a gray car.
Faden said the shooting could have been gang-related but the 18-year-old man's family insists he wasn't in a gang.
The victim had just started college and his family said he "loved playing football."
