HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — A former “Saturday Night Live” writer was found dead in a hotel near Hollywood Boulevard in what appears to be a suicide, according to authorities.

Joe Bodolai, 63, was found dead in a hotel room in the 1700 block of Whitley Avenue on Monday about 1:30 p.m., Craig Harvey of the coroner’s office said.

Bodolai wrote for the “SNL” in the early 80s and co-wrote the first draft of the film “Wayne’s World.”

The cause of death, TMZ reported, has not been determined.

Antifreeze, a poison if ingested, was found in the hotel room, the website reported.
