Father Of 4 Fatally Shot Near Westlake-Area Home

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A father of four was fatally shot Saturday morning near his Westlake-area home.

LISTEN: KNX 1070’s Ed Mertz reports

The attack on Witmer Street near Third Street occurred about 12:15 a.m., said Los Angeles police Lt. Joy Smith.

The victim, who was later identified as 41-year-old Juan Barrajas, was apparently standing on the sidewalk with another male when a gold-colored vehicle drove by and shot at him.

According to police, Barrajas was hit in the upper torso and was taken to a hospital where he died.

Authorities do not believe the victim had gang affiliations, nor do they believe that he was the intended target.

Barrajas leaves behind a wife and four children, the eldest of which is 18.

Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to contact LAPD’s Rampart station at (213) 484-3400. All tips can be made anonymously.

Before, tax payers were feeding them 6 clothes, food, medical and other welfare. After, tax payers are going to pay only 5, but for good.

You’re an idiot. Maybe you’ll get shot just standing on the corner and no one will care.

    2. Lauri says:

Before speaking, check things out. This man worked a steady job as a cashier for a large company. We are all going to miss him.
He always had a smile for you and wished everyone well.

Melvin or whatever your real name is!

I worked with Juan for 8 months and during that time, Juan, I called Him Juan Solo, was the most likeable person you could imagine.

Always having a smile and always at work, working for His Family!

God will judge your lack of sympathy and tact during this difficult time for their family.

R.I.P. Juan, I am Soo Sad to see your picture on the news as a victim of the societal pressures we are all experiencing!

      Sincerely,

    1. JB says:

Yeah! Now maybe his wife can get some rest.
