LA PUENTE (CBS) — Sheriff’s officials are investigating a deputy-involved shooting Friday morning that left a suspect injured.

Sheriff’s officials say deputies conducted a traffic stop around 3:30 a.m. near Seventh Avenue and Valley Boulevard. morning. When the driver finally pulled over, his passenger ran from the car, starting a foot chase.

During the chase, a deputies saw the suspect holding a gun and fired in self defense.

It was later determined that the handgun was a replica.

The suspect was hospitalized in stable condition. His name was not released.

The driver was arrested on a warrant.

No deputies were injured.

    Corrupt DEA where stealing drugs from evidence vaults and reselling them to cover extensive credit card debt.
    They also are creating suspects by planting evidence just so that they can steal from them.
    Given the choice of suspension or dealing with their debt most DEA are thinking outside the box.

    According to police, they also found a pink lipstick in suspect’s pocket. So, now the authority opened another investigation toward the suspect to see which hispanic gang he belongs to.
