Only On CBS2: Surveillance Video Catches Thief Nabbing $1500 FedEx Delivery

YORBA LINDA (CBS) — More and more people are doing their holiday shopping online, anxiously awaiting when the gifts will arrive at their door.

But what if thieves were also waiting on that delivery?

Joanne Padilla said she was expecting $1,500 worth of gift cards to arrive at her Yorba Linda home last week. She was home on the day she saw the FedEx truck pull up and she went to secure her dog before going outside.

When she opened the door there was no package waiting for her.

Padilla checked footage from her security cameras and was shocked to find a man getting out of a car, walking up to her porch and stealing the package.

The incident was reported to police.

Padilla said she wanted to alert other unsuspecting cyber shoppers about her situation to prevent it from happening to them.
