Man, 25, Shot In The Head During Family Picnic In A Perris Park

PERRIS (CBS) — A 25-year-old man was shot in the head while having a picnic in a Perris park with relatives, and deputies are looking for the shooter, according to the sheriff's department.

The shooting took place about 5 p.m. Saturday at Copper Creek Park in the 200 block of Citrus Avenue in Perris, said sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Smith.

"During the investigation, officers learned that a group was having a picnic at the park when gunshots were heard and a male victim was struck," Smith said. "A man was shot in the head and taken to the hospital by relatives where he received medical condition and is in serious condition."
