Body Found Inside Home After Fire Is Extinguished In Quartz Hill

QUARTZ HILL (CBS) —  A body was found inside a two-story home Sunday in Quartz Hill after a fire was put out there this afternoon, a coroner's lieutenant said.

The fire was reported at 5:15 p.m. in the 42000 block of 56th Street West.

According to supervisor Michael Pittman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the blaze was under control by 5:26 p.m.

Coroner's Lt. Joe Bale said at 10:15 p.m. he was contacted about a person found dead inside the home, but he had not yet dispatched an investigator to the scene.

According to a witness at the location, fire department personnel said the body was that of a woman.
