Jodie Foster's Father Gets 5 Years For Defrauding Homebuyers

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Jodie Foster's estranged father was sentenced Friday to five years in jail for defrauding dozens of low-income homebuyers.

Lucius Foster, 89, was found guilty of 21 misdemeanor counts of grand theft earlier this week.

Prosecutors say he took $5,000 from at least 21 people, promising to build them more affordable homes made from cargo containers.

Those units were never built.

It's unclear what Foster did with the estimated $130,000 he had collected from his victims.
