HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBS) —  A Huntington Beach police officer shot and killed a pit bull terrier at the Ocean View Estates Mobile Home Park Thursday.

The officers were responding to a call about transients staying in an abandoned trailer.

Officer arrived at the city-owned mobile home park at 7051 Ellis Ave. about 10:30 a.m., said Huntington Beach police Lt. Russell Reinhart. The officers knocked on the doors and windows, but did not receive a response, Reinhart said.

However, when they entered the abandoned trailer a 100-pound pit-bull reportedly charged at them.

One officer withdrew his service revolver and fatally shot the dog. The officers were uninjured.

A 24-year-old man, who had been arrested in the abandoned trailer about a month ago, was again in the trailer, Reinhart said. The trailer’s owner, who lives in Sacramento, told officers the man is his son, Reinhart said.

KD a Vet Tech is one step over a hamburger flipper at Mc Donalds. You are a true idiot for thinking all Pit Bulls are nice.

Good. We can’t have Siberian Tigers as pets. Dogs with their temperament and jaw strength should be outlawed. Owning an intimidating animal doesn’t make you neat. Get over your self, Fonzie.

The dog is good If the owner is good and if not it is unfortunate that a officer had to protect himself but the owner should be locked up and the key thrown away for making the dog viscious, I have a friend who breeds them one has a 44 inch head I would allow my kids to be around all his dogs they have gotten a bad rep from all the idiots that don’t treat them right.
