Deputies Arrest Parolee Accused Of Mugging Elderly OC Woman

SANTA ANA (CBS) — One of two suspects who allegedly mugged a 90-year-old woman and ransacking her Rossmoor home was arrested, sheriff’s officials said Thursday.

A 23-year-old parolee from Long Beach was in custody after Orange County sheriff’s officials released a sketch of the two suspects.

The other suspect remains at large, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.

The victim was confronted by two men when she went outside about 11 a.m. Wednesday to get her newspaper. As one wielded a handgun that he put against her neck, she was ordered her back inside her home in the 11600 block of Weatherby Road.

The pair tied her to a chair and covered her face with a towel, and one of the men watched her while his partner ransacked the home looking for valuables, Amormino said. The men also took bracelets, chains and rings from the victim, ripping her blouse in the process, he said.

One of the men wore plastic surgical gloves and the other had black gloves with white snowflakes on them, Amormino said, adding that they made their getaway in a small, compact white pickup truck.

The victim was “shook up, but not physical hurt,” Amormino said.

Tipsters led detectives to the parolee,= whose name is being withheld because of the ongoing investigation.

This guy was on Parole, just like all the other stories we hear, that means he was relased from prison early, and was placed on Parole. While he is out he does this… Well at least we saved money by relasing him early from prison,, I mean that is more important here.

See, it’s like this. If this low-life didn’t get convicted for committing a “violent” crime, he gets to go free! I mean, after all, how bad can he be, right? As far as our justice system is concerned no blood, no foul!

Maybe – considering what has gone on, just in the last 2 weeks in the news-somebody needs to rethink this whole “letting them out early thing” ………When people that are charged with a serious crime have a get outta jail free card, it doesnt deter crime…..It makes the criminals think there is little or no penalty for abusing our legal system in one way or another…….

People who commit crimes against women and the elderly are just barely a notch above child molesters in the jail food chain. They will be dealt with, and likely not be allowed to run with their race. Criminals respect other criminals, but they hate cowards as much as you and I. There is ‘hard time’, and then there is what these two are in for. Doesn’t matter if it’s county time, either. They will likely get shipped to Supermax (Pitchess Center North facility in Castaic), where race politics are fully enforced by the inmates. Good luck guys!
