LONG BEACH (CBS) — A 26-year-old woman died after falling from the Queen Mary Tuesday night.
The woman plummeted 75 feet into the water from a third-story railing around 8:30 p.m., according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
A man who dove 15 feet into the water to save her was hospitalized with hypothermia and minor injuries.
A Long Beach police officer and a Queen Mary staff member also jumped in the water to try and save her.
They were able to pull her out of a narrow channel between the side of the ship and the pier.
She was then taken to a Long Beach hospital, where she later died.
No further details were immediately released.
