3 Schools On Lockdown After Simi Valley Jewelry Store Robbery

SIMI VALLEY (CBS) — Authorities are searching for three armed robbers who targeted a jewelry store in Simi Valley Tuesday morning.

Crestview and Mountain View elementary schools and Hillside Middle School were placed on lockdown as authorities searched for three men who were seen leaving Star Jewelry in the 1900 block of Sequoia Avenue just after 10:30 a.m.

They initially fled in a white Lexus, but the vehicle was recovered nearby in the 900 block of Appleton.

Officers set up a parameter and were conducting a search.

Parents were asked not to show up at the schools and officials confirm that all children are safe.

The suspects were described only as three black men. Anyone with information about their whereabouts or the robbery was asked to contact police.

Hey Derek Bell in “SKY9”, the Law Enforcement helicopter is from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Dept., the cops on the ground are Simi Valley P.D. Not Sheriff’s, and there’s no such thing as the “Ventura County Police”. Get your facts and agencies straight or go back to L.A.!
