Blog: UCLA Could Get Sumlin 'On The Low'

@bgold13

Update: LA Times reporting, Sumlin is no longer a candidate at UCLA!

(CBS) -- If you own stock in Houston Cougars coach Kevin Sumlin, it's been one wild week!

Go back five days and he seemed signed, sealed and delivered to Arizona State,  but when Texas A&M heard the leaked information that Sumlin would be a Sun Devil, the Aggies reportedly moved quickly to dismiss their head coach, Mike Sherman.

Sumlin, who once coached in College Station, reportedly has always considered A&M to be his dream job.

ASU felt played by his agent, Trace Armstong (former Sun Devil), and  canceled their charter flight to Houston, and veered North to Dallas, where they interviewed June Jones.

At the same time, the Cougars got smothered by Larry Fedora's Southern Miss Golden Eagles in the Conference USA championship game, and the Aggie faithful, already split on how Sumlin's offense would fare in the SEC, reportedly became overwhelmingly Anti-Sumlin, including some big boosters.

By Saturday night, Sumlin's stock was more volatile than Netflix, trading at lows we haven't seen in a long time.

That brings us to Sunday, where Sumlin and UCLA have gotten serious with each other, and the Bruins could be "buying on the low."
