LA PUENTE (CBS) —  Sheriff’s deputies say an Amtrak train hit and killed a pedestrian Sunday in La Puente.

The train left Union Station and was headed to New Orleans.

The accident occurred near Old Valley Boulevard and Albert Street.

None of the 184 passengers or crew aboard Amtrak’s Sunset Limited were injured.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is on-going.

Family members of the deceased are reportedly on scene.
