More Than 120 Firefighters Spend An Hour Containing Structure Fire In Expo Park
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A non-injury fire at a discount electronics and furnishings business tonight in the Exposition Park area of South Los Angeles was contained in 59 minutes by 121 firefighters.
Firefighters were sent at 10:04 p.m. to a one-story structure fire at 3935 S. Vermont Ave., near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The building is located within a strip mall just behind the Los Angeles Coliseum.
The heavy fire was contained to the rear half of the business. The cause of the fire was under investigation, Humphrey said.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
