Firefighters In Pasadena Battle House, Vegetation Blaze

PASADENA (CBS) — A fire broke out Saturday in a home in Pasadena then spread to vegetation along the Foothill (210) Freeway, according to a city fire official.

The fire began around 2:30 p.m. in a two-story home near Oakland Avenue and Maple Street, just east of Fair Oaks Avenue, Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department said.

By 3 p.m., Derderian said the structure remained engulfed in flames and the blaze had spread.

"The structure fire extended to vegetation along the westbound 210 due to recent wind conditions and dry vegetation," Derderian said.

No injuries were reported.

Derderian said no one was home at the time of the fire.
