Palm Desert Teen On BMX Bike Robs 13-Year-Olds At Knifepoint

PALM DESERT (CBS) — Deputies on Friday were looking for a teenage male who reportedly robbed two younger kids at knifepoint in Palm Desert.

The 13-year-old victims were walking home on San Pablo Avenue near Catalina Way about 9 p.m. Thursday when another teen came up behind them on a black BMX bike and robbed them, said Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Angel Ramos.

The robber took a wallet and other items and rode away. No injuries were reported, Ramos said.

The victims described the robber as being between 15 and 17 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

He was carrying a yellow and white bag, Ramos said.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Valley Crimestoppers at (760) 341-7867.

Nice, he’ll move up to robbing drive thru’s soon.

Being an L.A. native this happens all the time, this is not out of the ordinary, riverside, the 909 use to be the METH capital of the nation, and this makes headlines. Riverside PD will be protrolling the neighborhoods through DRONES, costing the city about 1.3million anually.
