RIVERSIDE (CBS) — A Lake Elsinore photographer who allegedly molested and snapped sexually oriented pictures of children was behind bars on Friday.

Perry Anthony Pellegrini, 50, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of lewd acts with a child under 14, continuous sexual abuse of a minor and possessing child pornography.

He was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

According to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Chavez, Pellegrini’s wife contacted deputies Tuesday after confronting him about his alleged molestation of a child, whose identity was not released.

Chavez said Pellegrini attempted to slash his wrists, prompting a call to 911. The suspect was rushed to a hospital, where he received treatment for his wounds and a psychiatric evaluation.

When he was released, investigators immediately took him into custody, according to the sergeant.

He said a search of Pellegrini’s home computer revealed “numerous digital photographs depicting minors in several states of undress.”

The suspect, who owns Psp Photography on Riverside Drive in Lake Elsinore and a studio in Huntington Beach, may have come into contact with a number of children, according to sheriff’s officials.

Anyone with information about the case was urged to call the Lake Elsinore sheriff’s station at (951) 245-3300, or at (951) 776-1099.

“WAS Behind bars last Friday”?????? Where is he now? It does not say in the article that he was released. I think it should say “Was PLACED behind bars last Friday”.

He might be in Valencia, Castaic, or up in, ya know, where only the very very privileged live (ahem, ahem).

What’s the big deal. Let him kill himself. It helps the overcrowding problem at the jail and saves the taxpayers money. win, win.

Hell can’t wait for you Perry Pellegrini. I’m not so sure God would forgive you for what you have done to children. You pervert, SOB. I hope the fathers in prison will finish you off since you cried wolf and couldn’t do it. Merry Christmas in HELL Perry. May you enjoy fire!!!!

I totally agree with Jackie Souza’s comment and Peters…he would have saved his family so much agony if he had succeeded but of course being the low life man he is, he staged it all. They found him sitting on the curb drinking a soda talking to his step daughter “pretending” to die..the wounds were only scratches nothing more nothing less…he has taken my daughters innocence and has ruined his family..I leave it to the justice system to take him down..BTW Perry Riverside County has a 99% conviction rate!!!!! They don’t let you out early in Prison only in county jails…
