Host The Perfect Holiday Party With Etiquette Tips From Elaine Swann

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Before you host that annual holiday gathering, make sure your home is prepped and ready to go for your guests!

Etiquette expert Elaine Swann visited the KCAL 9 studios Friday and shared tips for hosting a perfect party.

Prepping Your Home

Thoroughly clean the bedroom and bathroom your guest will be using.

Clear space in a drawer or closet. Line drawer with scented dryer sheets.

Make up bed with crisp clean linens. Spray linens with linen spray. Place chocolate on the pillow.

Leave water carafe next to bed.

Lay a large towel at the edge of the bed (because luggage tends to be dirty).

Welcome kit- Compose a welcome note, list of phone numbers, nearby attractions, set of keys, magazine or puzzle.

Stock bathroom with full bottles of wash and lotion not half full or used.

Before guest arrives light a fragrant candle in the room.
