(CBS) — The Angels are making a run at one of the biggest free agents on the market not named Pujols or Fielder.
According to Ken Rosenthal’s twitter, the Angels are going to make an offer to Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez.
Ramirez hit .306 with 26 home runs and 93 runs batted in for the Cubs last season.
It is believed Ramirez is seeking $14 million per season for either two of three seasons.
Ramirez, 33, has played his entire career in the National League with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cubs.
