SAN DIMAS (CBS) — A driver was freed after being trapped Thursday night in an overturned pickup truck on the northbound 57 freeway, on the transition to the westbound 210 freeway connector in San Dimas.
LA County firefighters worked to pull the person from the truck after it overturned shortly before 9:40 p.m.
The driver was freed around 10 p.m. and transferred to a hospital with mild to moderate injuries.
Emergency workers were told another vehicle was involved, causing the truck to overturn. It was believed one of the vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction.
Initial reports indicated the truck was on fire with the person trapped inside.
At least one lane on the northbound 57 was blocked.
