LAX Officials Brace For 'Busiest Travel Day' Of The Season

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Thanksgiving holiday is not quite over… at least for officials at Los Angeles International Airport as the busiest travel day of the holiday season near approaches.

The Monday after Turkey day is expected to be the busiest at LAX this year as a result of the 167,000 travelers who are scheduled to pass through.

Peak times for crowds at LAX terminals will be 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., airport officials warned.

Meantime, LAX police plan to hand out new maps to drivers who linger in the white zones which are reserved for immediate loading and unloading.

"The handouts contain helpful information on alternative parking and waiting options to drivers who attempt to remain curbside," the airport said in a news handout.
