RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Authorities Saturday said a man suffered severe burns when he fell into a fire pit at his Riverside County home.
The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Friday near Butterfield Stage Road and Temecula Parkway in Aguanga, said fire Capt. Scott Piccini.
The captain said the man was listed in serious condition at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
He was initially driven to a local hospital and was later airlifted to a burn center.
According to Piccini, the man suffered burns to his right hand, thigh and leg, as well as second and third degree burns to his right side.
His identity has not been released.
