Boy, 14, Shot To Death At Campground Near Lake Hemet

HEMET (CBS) — Authorities Saturday were continuing to investigate a deadly shooting in the San Jacinto Mountains.

The shooting, which claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy, occurred about 2:45 p.m. Friday at a campground near Lake Hemet just south of Idyllwild.

A preliminary investigation conducted by detectives with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department found that the shooting appeared to be accidental.

No other information was immediately available.
