LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Two employees of a car dealership in Glendale who took a brand new BMW for a spin faced criminal charges on Friday.

KNX 1070's Vytas Safronikas reports the duo made things easier for prosecutors when they decided to videotape the alleged joyride.

Vacheh Margoussian, 21, and Artin Yazidjian, 22, face misdemeanor charges for taking a car from Pacific BMW in August, according to a complaint filed by the Los Angeles County district attorney's office on Wednesday.

The pair is accused of taking a newly delivered BMW 1 Series M coupe out for a drive — an allegation that would normally be difficult to prove were it not for the videotape the defendants made of the joyride.

The video posted on YouTube allegedly shows the duo gunning the vehicle down a residential street at a high rate of speed.

Plastic covering the interior and a sales price sticker are partially visible on the vehicle in the video.

"This is the 1-M, second one at the dealership," one of the defendants is heard saying on the video. "Going for a test drive!"

Margoussian was the driver while Yazidjian videotaped the joyride down East Windsor Road, according to the complaint.

Margoussian also faces a misdemeanor reckless driving charge, the Glendale News Press reported.
