LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Forget Black Friday, Black Thursday has arrived!
Several Southland stores opened their doors on Thanksgiving this year in hopes of ringing in the holidays with some big sales.
“We’ve been preparing for about 30 days,” Melissa Millea Wood, district manager for Old Navy Los Angeles, told CBS2.
“Thanksgiving has become pretty a steady day for us,” she says. “We have a lot of fun with customers and the promotions are still fantastic.”
Old Navy stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, when they will close for four hours before reopening at midnight.

Kmart will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Banana Republic from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Walmart and Gap locations will open at 10 p.m., and Toys R Us will kick off sales an hour earlier at 9 p.m.
Macy’s, Target, Best Buy and Kohl’s will all open at midnight.
Roughly 77 million people are expected to shop for holiday bargains over the next four days.
If you plan to wait until Monday to do your shopping, be careful about surfing sites at work. More than half of businesses say they will block shopping sites.
