Early Bird Shoppers Camp Out For Black Friday Deals

CHINO HILLS (CBS) — Early bird shoppers are already camping out for Black Friday sales.

The first tent at a Best Buy store in Chino Hills was set up Saturday, 144 hours before doors are set to open at midnight Friday. By Monday morning, a total of four tents lined the sidewalk.

Shoppers are hoping to cash in on some of the electronics chain’s biggest deals, which include 42-inch LCD Sharp televisions for $199, $39 Blu-Ray players and $299 Toshiba laptops.

Even with such great deals, employees are surprised to see shoppers lining up nearly a week in advance.

“It’s a little early, but it’s kind of cool,” store manager Jim Gradney told CBS2. “It actually felt like the holidays when I came in this morning.”

Best Buy is one of several retailers to also offer discounts online starting Thanksgiving Day.

Smart move by these Occupiers, sacrifice 1 or 2 person early & when the night before Black Friday, everybody jumps in.. No ones gonna find out their tactics if they sneak in before Dawn..

I heard that each store will only get 10 each of the greatest deals. If you’re not camped out by now you are out of luck.

Great idea for those out of work, they got nothing to do anyway. Buy up the cheap stuff, resell on ebay, craigsliste, etc for profit. Defeats the purpose of the “sale” to the public.

Don’t know how to tell some of these people but if they watch sale ads throughout the year they will find that many of these BF prices are no big deal. I got a 42 inch HD TV about 6 months ago for 149.99 (and it isn’t an off brand). There’s also another store that has a 54 inch HD for about 30 dollars more on BF.
