The child, identified by authorities as David Rivera, was last seen about 10:40 a.m. Sunday at his home in the 12500 block of Telfair Avenue.

According to authorities, Rivera has apparently done this once before, but returned home shortly after.

His family and authorities are especially concerned because of the inclement weather. Authorities have set up a command post at El Dorado Avenue and Ryan Street.

Rivera, a Hispanic male, is 4 feet tall and weighs about 80 pounds. He has green eyes, brown hair and was last seen wearing a gray sports jacket, red pajama bottoms and black slippers.

Anyone with information as to Rivera's whereabouts is asked to contact the LAPD Mission Station at (818) 838-9800.
