3 Alleged Pipe Bombs Found Outside Pasadena Apartment Complex

PASADENA (CBS) — Nearly a dozen residents of an apartment complex were evacuated Wednesday after police found three pipe bombs there.

The pipe bombs were found in an apartment in the 200 block of South Oak Knoll Avenue. Police say the bombs and bomb making material were found in an apartment where a pursuit suspect had fled to after crashing his car Tuesday night.

The apartment allegedly was that of the suspect's friend, police said. He was arrested.

The Los Angeles County Bomb Squad detonated the suspicious devices, police said.

The area was deemed safe around noon.
