Police Confiscate $30K-$60K In Ecstasy Pills After Man Calls Police On Himself

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A man is under arrest Tuesday after calling cops to his home, where they found between $30,000 to $60,000 in ecstasy pills.

LAPD officials say the man contacted police claiming people were out to get him.

Officers entered the caller's residence on the 100 block of South Reno Street around 2:45 a.m. to do a protective sweep.

Sergeant Herb Chang of the LAPD says when officers responded, "They made contact with the reporting person, who advised them that there may be possible armed men inside the residence."

Rather than armed intruders, police say they found a gun and a makeshift marijuana incubator with a small pot farm. They also discovered in plain sight around 3,000 ecstasy pills, with a street value of $10 to $20 each.

Police believe the man was under the influence of his own goods, and may have been hallucinating when he contacted them.

The man is now in custody and faces multiple charges.
