Verizon Service Technician Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Elderly Customer

THOUSAND OAKS (CBS) — A Verizon service technician has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting an elderly customer in her Thousand Oaks home.

The incident was reported to the Thousand Oaks Police Department on Nov. 2.

According to police, the 76-year-old woman claimed the suspect sexually battered her after completing his work at her home.

The accused, identified as 56-year-old Tony Betancourt, was arrested Thursday.

He has been booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura on suspicion of sexual battery.
