LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Just in time for the holiday shopping season, a new application for the iPhone and iPad helps shoppers save time and money.
With the click of a finger and a scroll through multiple categories, the Bargains LA app lets savvy shoppers know about hot daily deals and the best bargains in the Southland.
Busy moms like Ruby Perez are grateful for the help. “It’s easier than going store to store, looking on clearance racks, and looking through all the papers,” says Perez.
The app is free to download, and locates discounts between fifty to eighty percent based on the user’s location. Bargain hunters can search by GPS or zip code.
Clicking on colored dots on the app’s map reveals more detailed information, such as store reviews, or details on the hot sale.
Suzanne O’Connor, founder and creator of bargainsla.com, says she has personally done the research. “I give you an idea what the store is like,” says O’Connor. “If the store’s cluttered, I’m gonna tell you that. I’m gonna tell you what form of payment they accept. I’m gonna let you know what the parking’s like.”
Less tech savvy shoppers need not worry. O’Connor says the app is designed to be user-friendly, hassle free, and guarantee savings during this economy.
