i cannot find the link for the Word of the Day “BELIEVE” entry spot on your site! I really wanted to enter. I check disneyland, contest, promotions etc and cannot find a way to enter!!! please help by sending me the link for another day opportunity. We used to be passholders and live close to the Disneyland Park but I’ve been out of work and had to skip Disneyland to make ends meet. This would be a blessing for our family. Please help!

      See comment below

Click on Contests / Promotions on the left side of the CBS LA homepage. It’s the second contest listed.
    Hope this helps!

  • denise

I was wondering if you contact people daily if they have won, and if so at around what time, and if all the entries carry on to the next day. I have entered at least 100 times today and I am really hoping to be a winner.

  • Susan

So one person can enter as many times?? I was just reading an email where she entered 100 times!! Or is it one time per each different email address? Thanks.!

  • Miriam Jenzen

I tried yesterday and again today to find the link and I also cannfind the word contestand promotions?

  • Denise T

  • Sherry

Make sure you keep your phone glued to your hand once you enter. And keep the ringer turned up on high. If you win and they cannot reach you the first time they try, they will NOT e-mail you and they will not call again. I entered last Tuesday – only 2 entries (it doesn’t take 100 entries to win), and within 2 minutes the CBS people called me on my cell phone – when I was in the bathroom. I didn’t expect them to be calling so fast if I won (which I assume I did), but it was almost instantaneously. I assume they have a computer that selects people at random. Anyway, I tried calling the number on my Caller ID right back, I got to someone’s voice mail…and they never called me back. So I assume what happened was that I won the Hoppers…and then, because I was in the bathroom and unable to reach the phone in time, I lost the Park Hoppers in the blink of an eye. I was crushed. Devastated. I have been out of work for 3 years and am extremely broke. These Hoppers would have meant the world to me – and I lost them because I was in the bathroom.

    • denise

That really sucks. I am so sorry you lost out on the tickets. Hopefully you can enter again and win. I know times are tough but you just have to think positive and be thankful for what you have. I myself have been trying to win some tickets, hopefully we both win. Good Luck.

  • Denise T

Hey, they didn’t do the word of the day today! Did you guys see it? I was watching but they didn’t do it at the time they usually did. :(

    • denise

yes they had the word it was “sibilia” it was done around 6:40-6:45am. Good luck to you. (Cool name by the way)

  • Denise T

Sibilia? That’s not a word! ;) Thanks though, and good luck to you too! I like your name too by the way! :)

    • Sherry

No, the word is not “SIBILIA” – it’s “SIBILA” There are only two “I’s” in the word, not 3. I rewound my DVR to be sure when I first saw it early this morning. So if anyone has been entering SIBILIA it is incorrect, although the contest entry form will not tell you that it’s incorrect. It will tell you that your entry is successful even if the word is wrong (I tested it yesterday to see, and it told me my entry was successful even though I entered in some horribly misspelled word). Sibila is the name of an anchor person or someone who works at CBS – you can find her full name on the Internet.

      • Denise Brotherton

Sorry I spelled it wrong but I knew it was something like that. I just try to be helpful. Her name was Sibila Vargas she was a co-anchor.

      • Sherry

I know you were trying to be helpful and that’s very nice of you to do, but I felt it was important to let people know what the actual spelling is because it MAY be a disqualifying factor in winning. Some places that hold contests, once they look over the entry forms for contests, will not accept something if it is misspelled. Accuracy is important in the case of contests – it’s not a safe bet to just guess the spelling if you want to win.

      • Denise Brotherton

Unfortunately I misspelled it myself on all my entries. O’well hopefully someone who deserves it wins. Good luck to all. and be sure to spell everything correctly. :)

  • Denise T

Thanks. Let me know if any of you guys win so we know that someone actually wins! :) I wonder how (and when) they contact you to let you know? It would be nice if they responded to our comments and questions about the contest too but I guess they dont see them! :(

    • Sherry

As I posted here yesterday (so that people will have an idea of what to possibly expect), I entered only 2 times last Tuesday (one week ago yesterday). I went to the restroom immediately after entering. CBS called me while I was in the restroom – so it was within only two or three minutes of my submitting the second entry form. I didn’t enter 200 times or 20 times – only twice – and they were already calling me…..Unfortunately, because I was not able to get to the phone when they called, I lost out on the Hoppers. If they try to call you and you do not answer, they will not try to reach you again and they will not e-mail you. Also, if you call the number back (it shows on the Caller ID as an 818 area code with a 655 prefix), you will get a receptionist. I explained my situation and had her forward me to someone who was handling the contest. I left a message for that person in voice mail. She never called me back……So I missed out on the Hoppers when they called me because I was away from the phone – but I never expected them to call so fast after receiving my entry. I assume they have a randomized computer selection process and I happened to get in at the right time……That COULD happen to any of you guys – you could enter and then CBS calls you within minutes. Or…you may enter and they don’t call you until later that night. It is probably different for each person, but that’s what happened to me………I was so upset by it and so angry that CBS doesn’t give us a second chance to claim our prize, like many places will do. In fact, MOST places that hold contests like this over a week or two will e-mail the winners now – specifically so they don’t miss out. But not CBS. …..Anyway, just keep your phone in your hand at all times – even if you go to the bathroom or into the kitchen – and if you see a number coming through that starts with 818-655…that’s CBS!

      • Denise T

Hey Sherry, I’m sorry to hear about that. :( What time of day was that by the way as I wonder if they pick winners around the same time each day? They must pick them on the day they enter I imagine as they announce the winners early the next morning. Just curious. Maybe just enter around the same time of day you did before???? Good luck!

      • Sherry

They called me at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, 11/8/11. So I must have submitted my second entry (which was right after my first entry) at around 12:37 p.m. It was that fast! And the exact number on my Caller ID was 818-655-2000. That’s the main, general CBS number, but I assume that any outbound calls made from within CBS will show up as that number……I mean, they didn’t even leave me a voice mail and give me a chance to reply! I can understand if they tried to reach me twice and couldn’t get me – then, sure, so ahead and disqualify me. But one attempt by CBS on the phone – no message left, no e-mail, no reply to my message to them, no second chance – seems so unfair. They view that as forfeiture of a prize! I even went back and read the rules for the contest and it does essentially say somewhere in all of that language that the prize winner must be available on the first attempt – or some such thing. (Can’t recall exactly how they worded it.)….I tend to think that their computer (which probably does the selection of winners at random) just latched on to my phone # and auto-dialed me right away. A few seconds later and I may not have gotten the call at all – well, at this point I almost wish I hadn’t gotten the call because I lost the Hoppers due to being in the bathroom!!! Arrrrrrggggghhhhhh! Lol! Who’d have thought they’d be calling me within a few minutes?

    the word is SNOWFALL.

    • Sherry

I think that if winning this contest is truly important to people – and there is only one more day of it to go after today – they should make a point of getting the word themselves by staying awake or setting the DVR/VCR (or whatever they have) to record the show……It’s not really fair to those of us who are taking the time to obtain the word so we have a shot at winning – giving the word to other people who didn’t get it for themselves is only decreasing our chance of winning, and I know I am not going through the trouble of recording and staying awake to get the word for anyone else’s benefit – I am entering the contest for me and my family/friends!…..I don’t mind giving out a word ONE time to be helpful, but I stop at one time!…….I think that tomorrow, it should be every man and woman for his or herself! I’m a generous person and have given out a lot of Hoppers and free hotel rooms to friends over the years, but I think fair is fair. I think that if you want to have a shot at going to Disneyland through this contest, you need to put in the time/effort to get the word to enter the contest!

  • Denise Brotherton

I hope someone from this chatting box wins some tickets. I think we all deserve it. Good Luck to everyone

  • Nat

I won last Tuesday.. They called me around 1230 & they confirmed my address since they would mail me the tickets.. But I have still yet to recieve them.. Im a little bummed about that.. But I dont even know who I would call.. Anyone else win & got their tickets yet??

    • Sherry

Nat – So if your call came through at 12:30 last Tuesday, it was 10 minutes before they called me! I know they pick two winners per day, so maybe I was their second winner – I wouldn’t have expected them to contact two winners within such a short time frame. I’d have assumed it would be more spread out during the day. When I didn’t answer, they must have gone right to the next person in the system…..Anyway, when I was trying to frantically get back to them to beg them to give me the Hoppers they had called me about, I got a receptionist and she forwarded me to someone’s voice mail. This person was in charge of contest-related stuff. I cannot remember the person’s name on the voice mail. I would just call the 818-655-2000 number and explain that you won the Hoppers last week – it was already confirmed – and you wondered when you would get them. The receptionist will likely put you through to the same voice mail I got……Also, if you go back and read the rules of the contest, in the fine print somewhere it probably indicates how long it may or may not take to get your prize. It’s only been 9 days – that’s not too long. Good luck!
