Chef Sam Christopher Shares Dia De Los Muertos Recipes

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Now that Halloween is over, it's time to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos.

Chef Sam Christopher visited the KCAL9 studio to share recipes for the special concoctions he'll be whipping up at Rosa Mexicano.

Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a 2-day Mexican holiday.  All Saints' Day is celebrated on Nov. 1 and All Souls' Day is Nov. 2. It is a time when participants remember loved ones who have passed away by celebrating their lives with favorite food, drinks, and remembrances.

Chef Christopher shared specialty food and drink like Red Chile Lamb and Corn Soup, and Picosita - a spicy twist on the margarita.

He also brought a Candied Pumpkin Crème Brulee for dessert, which is served with skull-shaped shortbread cookies.

The celebration at Rosa Mexicano will continue through Nov. 4. There are two locations in Los Angeles, at L.A. LIVE and on Sunset Blvd.
