Man Arrested Following Deadly Hit-And-Run In Pico Rivera

PICO RIVERA (CBS) — Sheriff's deputies say they have arrested a man suspected of purposefully running down another man with his vehicle in Pico Rivera.

The deadly hit-and-run occurred at 1:19 a.m. Sunday in the area of Passons Boulevard north of Telegraph Road.

The suspect, identified by authorities as 38-year-old Alfredo Campos, Jr. of Rancho Cucamonga, was stopped by sheriff's deputies at Slauson Avenue and Boer Street in an unincorporated county area of Whittier following the incident.

A news release issued by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said a preliminary investigation revealed that Campos and the victim had allegedly been involved in some sort of confrontation prior to the accident.

The 38-year-old victim's name has not been released. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
