DENVER (CBS) – The Colorado Avalanche finally got their first home win of the season and finally beat the Los Angeles Kings, 3-2.

Despite an impressive road record of 6-1, the Avalanche were winless in their first three games in Colorado and had lost five straight to Los Angeles.

It was 2-2 heading into the third when Matt Duchene put the Avalanche up for good, scoring at  1:52 into the third period for the game winning goal.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 30 shots by the Kings, including a flurry at the end where the Kings had a six on four advantage.

Los Angeles out shot Colorado, 32-16.
