LA MIRADA (CBS) — Two women were killed, and several other passengers  injured, in a solo-vehicle crash Saturday morning in La Mirada.

The Honda Accord crashed into a power pole on Lambert Road. The crash was reported just after 3:50 a.m. Saturday.

The driver and one of her six passengers was killed.

Both women were in their early 20s and residents of Whittier. Their names were withheld until their next of kin could be notified.

The power pole was knocked down but has since been repaired.

The injured were taken to area hospitals. At least one of the passengers is listed in critical condition.

The CHP’s Santa Fe Springs office is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
