President Obama Departs From LAX After Whirlwind Fundraising Trip

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — President Obama departed from Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday afternoon following a whirlwind fundraising trip.

Obama, who stayed at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, is heading to San Francisco for more fundraising before flying to Denver.

He was scheduled to depart from Los Angeles International Airport at 11:40 a.m., but Air Force One took off at 12:05 p.m.

During his visit, Obama attended a 10:30 a.m. taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well as fundraising events at the homes of Hollywood producer James Lassiter and actor Antonio Banderas.

A seat at Banderas' dinner table cost guests such as Will Smith, Magic Johnson and Eva Longoria more than $30,000 each.

The event was aimed at building Latino support for the president's reelection campaign. His approval among Latino voters has fallen below 50 percent.

Several Latino voters say Obama has misled them into thinking he would push for immigration reform, but only delivered arrests and deportations.

President Obama also made a surprise stop at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles on Pico Boulevard, where he ordered a #9: three wings and a waffle, complete with syrup and hot sauce.
