Lohan Begins Community Service At LA County Morgue

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Lindsay Lohan completed her first full day of court-ordered community service Friday at the County morgue.

Lohan arrived an hour early at the Los Angeles County Coroner's office Friday morning.

Unlike all other volunteers, the morgue's volunteer coordinator allowed the actress to use the back door Friday because she arrived early at 5:30 a.m. as to not disrupt business.

"You have to understand we have family members of deceased here. We're trying to respect the deceased and
the family members," said Ed Winter, Assistant Chief Coroner.

Lohan, 25, was turned away from the back door of the morgue Thursday morning after she showed up 40 minutes late for her scheduled appointment.

Winter says Lohan was not only late, but also attempted to use the wrong entrance. All volunteers must enter through the public entrance.

"With all of the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I've never been so happy to go to therapy!!!! Also, I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused to those at the Coroner's office. Won't happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help." Lohan tweeted Thursday.

Lohan's community service duties will include janitorial work.

The actress posted $100,000 bail Wednesday after Judge Stephanie Sauter determined that she had violated her probation.

Sauter scolded Lohan for missing nine scheduled volunteer shifts that were part of her probation at the women's shelter in downtown Los Angeles.

Lohan's probation stemmed from a jewelry theft and a 2007 DUI arrest.

She is due back in court on Nov. 2.
