KFWB On Your Corner: 710 Freeway Extension

(KFWB NEWS TALK 980) — Back in the 1960's, there was a proposal to extend the 710 Freeway along Valley Boulevard in Alhambra all the way to where the 210 Freeway is today.

It would slice through the middle of South Pasadena as well as other neighborhoods — impacting nearly 1,000 homes in its path. In 1999, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction, stopping the project.

Litigation continues well into 2011, and there looks to be no end in sight.
