Southwest Flight Makes Unscheduled Landing After Cockpit Scuffle

AMARILLO, Texas (CBS/AP) — A man has been arrested after witnesses reported that he became unruly while aboard a Southwest Airlines flight traveling from Los Angeles to Kansas City.

Southwest Airlines spokesman Brad Hawkins said he couldn’t confirm early reports that the man tried to break into cockpit of Flight 3683. However, he said the flight crew decided on an unscheduled landing about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Amarillo as a precaution.

Authorities said the unruly passenger was turned over to federal authorities for questioning in Amarillo, Texas.

Hawkins said none of the 136 passengers and five crew members were injured.

Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Sarah Horowitz said information is still being gathered.

I think people who want to act like this need to be jettisoned from the plane. Forget about any unscheduled landings, drop their sorry @$$e$ from 20,000 feet. Bet that puts a quick stop to $hit like this.
