Selena Gomez Granted Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker

BURBANK (CBS) — A judge in Burbank has granted Selena Gomez a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker, according to court records.

The order approved Thursday requires Thomas Brodnicki, 46, to stay 100 yards away from the 19-year-old singer-actress and her workplace. It could be extended for three years at a hearing on Nov. 4.

TMZ.com reported this week that according to Gomez and her lawyer's court statements, Brodnicki told a psychiatrist he traveled to Los Angeles to see Gomez, visited her workplace and has said he had conversations with God about killing her.

Gomez will host the MTV European Music Awards Nov. 6.
